The entirety of the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and Northern Ring Motorway is monitored 24/7 without interruption from the Main Control Center. Throughout the year, all operation, maintenance, and management activities are carried out meticulously by the expert teams of the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and Northern Ring Motorway Operation (ICA). With an experienced and skilled staff of approximately 1,000 people, ICA ensures that drivers are always provided with a safe and comfortable journey through its Traffic Patrol and Maintenance teams.
Along the route, the most advanced technologies are used to maintain the highest level of traffic and road safety, ranging from electronic information signs to fog and temperature sensors. Weather conditions are continuously monitored through 11 weather stations located on the bridge and motorway, while road conditions are tracked via sensors, allowing all necessary measures to be taken promptly. In this way, drivers are informed in a timely manner through electronic information signs under all conditions, ensuring safe travel.
At one of Istanbul’s key strategic transit points, the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and its connecting roads are supported by the Operations Department, which provides 24/7 service through its specialized units to ensure safe, uninterrupted, and sustainable transportation.
Our Operational Processes
Operational processes are structured into five main units to ensure effective management:
Maintenance Unit
It carries out the maintenance and repair processes of roads, bridges, and facilities, ensuring that the infrastructure operates safely and without interruption.
Traffic Unit
It ensures traffic safety; classifies vehicles carrying hazardous materials, manages accidents and road closures, and resolves incidents by taking the necessary precautions.
Main Control Center Unit
It centrally coordinates all operational processes. It manages incidents and accidents occurring across the bridge and motorway, directs technical infrastructure failures to the relevant units, and records all events through digital systems.
Landscape Unit
It develops landscaping solutions suitable for regional climate conditions and carries out environmental arrangements and sustainable vegetative area designs around the motorway and facilities.
Mechanical Unit
It performs the periodic maintenance and repair of vehicles and construction machinery used in construction, maintenance, and winter operations, contributing to the uninterrupted continuation of operational activities.

161 Emergency Roadside Assistance Line
The 161 Emergency Roadside Assistance Line is provided free of charge to enhance the road safety and comfort of our users. This line, accessible from all operators, allows you to:
- Obtain road condition information (closed roads, roadworks, traffic congestion).
- Request assistance for traffic safety in case of accidents or breakdowns.
- Be directed to the nearest teams in case of vehicle breakdowns or flat tires.
- Report hazards such as road damage, missing signage, fallen rocks, or road subsidence.
- Receive up-to-date information on road closures due to adverse weather conditions (snow, icing, etc.) and submit requests accordingly.
