- Entering and exiting the motorway without using toll collection systems (Free-Flow Toll Zone and toll plazas) is prohibited. Wire fences, walls, and similar structures installed along the motorway’s expropriation boundaries have been constructed to prevent unauthorized exits. Opening, demolishing, cutting, or otherwise damaging these barriers is strictly prohibited.
- Pedestrians, animals, non-motorized vehicles, rubber-tyred tractors, construction machinery, and bicycles are prohibited from entering the motorway.
- The minimum speed on the motorway is 40 km/h. The maximum speed is 140 km/h for passenger vehicles, in accordance with geometric standards and the limits indicated by traffic signs.
- Stopping, parking, making U-turns, and reversing are prohibited on the motorway. In cases of necessity, stopping is permitted only on the rightmost emergency lane (shoulder), provided that necessary precautions are taken without endangering traffic safety.
- Vehicles carrying hazardous and chemical materials, before arriving at the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge;
- on the European side at km 76+400, Uskumruköy Interchange (K9),
- on the Asian side at km 97+500, Riva Interchange (K3), it is prohibited to pass without stopping at the “Chemical Materials Control Points.”
In accordance with Law No. 6001 on the Organization and Duties of the General Directorate of Highways, administrative fines shall be imposed on those who do not comply with motorway rules and on animal owners who bring animals onto the motorway; and in accordance with the provisions of Environmental Law No. 2872, administrative fines shall be imposed on those who pollute the environment on the motorway.
